Ryuuga Banjou

"What is this power? I feel like I can't lose!" - Ryuuga, transforming into Cross Z Charge for the first time

Ryuuga Banjou (万丈 龍我 Banjō Ryūga) is the secondary rider of Kamen Rider Build. He uses the Dragon Fullbottle, which he got from his deceased girlfriend, Kasumi Ogura, and the Build Driver to transform into Kamen Rider Cross Z Charge. Later on in the series, he uses the Sclash Driver to transform into Cross Z Charge, by using the Dragon Sclashjelly. Ryuuga Banjou is portrayed by Eiji Akaso.

History

Ryuuga appeared in That One with the Best Match, after running out of a sewer pipe. After escaping, he tries to stay away from the Touto government minions. Sento Kiryuu later finds where was he after Soichi Isurugi has informed him, and attempts to take him down. Ryuuga then explains to Kamen Rider Build that he didn't murdered anyone, as many people has assumed. Rumor has it that Ryuuga has murdered the devil scientist, Takumi Katsuragi!


At first, Build didn't believe Ryuuga, but later after seeing his high spirit of how he fights the Strong Smash, that they are interrupted by, he believes. After defeated the Smash, Touto government troopers arrive. They want to bring back Ryuuga, of course, why wouldn't they? Build knows he will regret it, but he does it anyways. He takes his motorcycle and drives Ryuuga far away.

In The Innocent Runaway, Ryuuga is now in the Nascita Caffe, that Soichi had scolded Sento for. Ryuuga has to stay there now, since he is a wanted fugitive. He later gets chained up by Sento. After Sento left, Ryuuga receives a phone call, from Kasumi. She seems to sound like that she is in distress! Ryuuga broke himself free, and held up the chain as walked towards Misora Isurugi. After chaining her up, he left the building. After Sento returned, and found the chained up Misora, he asked for what happened. She told that Ryuuga had tied her up, and so Sento sets off to find the missing Ryuuga.

After some time, he found him. He complains that he is a fugitive and he can't just go walking outside, and he also asked what on earth is he doing outside. Ryuuga briefly explained, which caught more interest in Sento's attention.

Later, at last, it was too late. Kasumi has became a Smash, Burn Smash that is. Ryuuga couldn't believe it. He thought of a way, to beat her up and revert her back to a human. The waiting Night Rogue came to place and explained that is you beat the Smash up, Kasumi to will die after reverting back to human. If you don't, then you will never see the old Kasumi again! Is this really happening? What could Ryuuga do. He couldn't do any of it.

However he knew what he had to do. He picked an option.

Ryuuga looked at Build, and told him to defeat the Burn Smash, which Build successfully did. After defeating the Smash, he sucked up the essence into the Empty Fullbottle. Kasumi fell and Ryuuga caught her. They talked for the last time, before she disappeared in front his own eyes... Sento started his way back to his motorcycle.

Ryuuga felt so guilty, he didn't knew what was the purpose for him to live. Sento went to him and told him to follow, but he didn't. Sento convinced him to come. Ryuuga reluctantly started back to his motorcycle.

After they went back to the Nascita Caffe, Misora purified the Fullbottle, and it successfully became the Dragon Fullbottle. Ryuuga said it was his girlfriend, so it is his right to claim the Dragon Fullbottle as his! And therefore it was.

In The Innocent Runaway, Ryuuga wanted to clear his name, so he doesn't need a disguise just to get out of the building. Misora shows up and becomes her idol form, Miitan! Miitan helps Ryuuga to get a name, who is capable of removing his name. She got one! Masahiro Nabeshima. Ryuuga calls him personally, and Nabeshima answers. He asks him how to clear his name, and Nabeshima tells him to help his family, who is located in Seito.

But what was actually behind Nabeshima's plan? It was actually a plan from Night Rogue. Night Rogue had told Nabeshima to tell Ryuuga to help him, exactly about that. Ryuuga had to oblige. He went out, with Sawa Takigawa in tow. They quickly went there.

When they arrived, Reika Kine was there. She was the woman who was turned into Flying Smash and the Kamen Rider had saved. She was grateful for them, so she said that she will help them. She told them that he husband owns a ship, and they are able to board it for free. During the journey, they stared at the Reika and he daughter playing about the fight they had seen just now.

In The Testimony Will be Zero, Ryuuga and Sawa has arrived. They went to the house and once they arrive, Sawa went to talk to Haruka Nabeshima. Ryuuga looked around and saw the daughter, Tomoe Nabeshima. He asked her does she miss her dad, and she replies she had been. She haven't seen him for a long time, and she can shape rubber to new forms.

Ryuuga wanted to take them back to Touto. But it wasn't safe. Nabeshima knew this for a reason. After taking them back to the boat, the government minions arrive. They shot their boat and the ship recoiled backwards and exploded. Luckily, no one was hurt. They went to a truck and drove off.

Later, Nabeshima was being fought by Build. Ryuuga arrived and then hurled a sword at the Smash. After the Smash turned back, Nabeshima was found. He was later sent to Nascita Caffe. After he woke up, he picked up Nabeshima by the collar and demanded him to clear his name. Nabeshima has lost his memory. He didn't even remember his memory. Neither did he remember about Ryuuga. Ryuuga was overly disappointed. There is no way to clear his name now!

In Dangerous Identity, Sento and Sawa meets a very strange man, who is named Tatsuya Kishida. He explains that he was Sento's buddy before he lost his memory, little did he know that Sento is Takumi. Ryuuga stayed at the Nascita Caffe, thinking about how to clear his name. Later after Sento returned, Tatsuya gets kidnapped. After Ryuuga arrived, Sento successfully reverts Tatsuya back from Press Smash. Ryuuga suddenly had a light pop up in his head. He went to Tatsuya without thinking twice and reverted him back to Press Smash. Sento was angry of him, but Ryuuga didn't care if Tatsuya lost his memory or not. He just said that it will lead them to the base. And it did.

In Moonsault of Anger, Ryuuga and Sento arrived at the base. After Blood Stalk and Night Rogue had discovered that the two somehow entered, they begin to battle. Ryuuga used his awesome hand-to-hand combat, along with the Dragon Fullbottle. Later, Blood Stalk made the place about to self destruct before leaving. Sento felt so useless. Ryuuga then inspired Sento, and therefore went back to the correct path and saved the people awaiting to turn into the massive Smash. Tatsuya later became back to normal.

After they escaped, Build remembered about Tatsuya. He is still in there! Tatsuya then popped out from the smoke, with intact memory, but in pain. He explained more about Taro Sato before falling down.

In The Devil's Scientist, Tatsuya told Ryuuga more about Taro Sato before he dropped him back on the ground and turned to leave. After hearing a lot of Hokuto; they decided to go there. And there they found Kyoka Katsuragi, Takumi's mother. Ryuuga came there in a clown disguise, and kids came running to him. The kids keep on playing with him, even pulling off his nose, and the teacher Kyoka straightened. She recognized him, a fugitive.

Ryuuga tries to explain that he isn't a fugitive, but she was still worried and scared of unexpected attempts that he might do, and she could never predict.

Later, Blood Stalk appears and fights them. Takehiko gets turned into Ice Smash and starts fighting Sento, who changes into Build. Blood Stalk turned and make his move to smoke. Ryuuga helped to protect the other students, earning Kyoka's respect. Later, he helped to fight the Ice Smash, with the Cross Z Dragon. It started shooting him too. After that, Build manages to defeat him and take him back to safety.

In Memory Starts to Talk, a bunch of government minions came to Kyoka's house and searched around for the two fugitives, Sento and Ryuuga. After Kyoka explained to them that they had headed a different direction, the minions go roam over there. The two went out of hiding from a scratchy place, and thanked her. Later, she invited them to her house to have a little talk. Ryuuga saw the food she had set for them to eat. After biting it, he complained that it was too sweet, which causes Sento to scold him, and remind him that he needs manners.

Later, they were hiding in the trunk of Kyoka's car, to drive back towards Touto to regain a Flash Drive from Takumi Katsuragi, before hearing a sound and getting out. Kyoka was kidnapped! Ryuuga and Sento began to fight the goverment minions who had hijacked their car, and managed to throw them out once again.

After they arrived in front of Nanba Heavy Industries, while Gentoku gets thrown off to search a different place—a locker— they managed to find the Flash Drive. Just then, Blood Stalk and Night Rogue came. Blood Stalk fights Ryuuga, with his raising Hazard Level. After he defeated him, they took the Flash Drive and headed to the Nascita Caffe. Ryuuga watched as Sento inserted it to his computer and watched the clip, Project Build.

In The False Kamen Rider, Ryuuga was still sleeping until later... They knew who is Blood Stalk now! Sento and Ryuuga now needs to make a new Fullbottle that can resists all of Blood Stalk's powers, and they do. Ryuuga had to test which Fullbottle goes well with the functionaries though, and it was a painfully slow process. He kept on getting hurt before he put in Rabbit and Tank. Sento and Ryuuga had to keep Misora out of the room, so Sento insists Ryuuga on bringing her out on a date, which he does, after he told about giving him a banana with extra protein. When he was at the karaoke, he heard Misora's horrible singing. Later, Misora told him more about Soichi and herself.

While Build was fighting Blood Stalk, Ryuuga pops into the scene and throws the Beat Closer to the Transteam Gun that Blood Stalk was about to use to kill Sento. Ryuuga then transforms into Cross Z and attempts to fight him, before he got shot and fell backwards.

Ryuuga watched as Sento got up and transformed into his glistening upgrade form, RabbitTank Sparkling. Ryuuga mouthed a small praise before falling limp to the hard ground. After Blood Stalk was defeated by the form, he looked at Ryuuga and Sento in turn. He told them the true identity of Night Rogue, and also to take care before jumping off to the sky.

In Judging Kiryuu Sento, they moved somewhere else to throw off where Gentoku was going. Gentoku was heading towards the Nascita Caffe. Later, they were with the Pandora's Box, because Soichi said that they can keep it.

Later, they found Gentoku and they said that he was Night Rogue. They started fighting, as Ryuuga transformed into Cross Z and started fighting him with the Beat Closer. After Sento transformed into LionComic, he went to Ryuuga with the 4 Koma Ninpoutou and they puffed into smoke.

Later, Soichi visited the Nascita Caffe and started to see the progress of how is Sento's research going. Misora came and stopped him and he left. Shortly after Soichi left the base, Ryuuga and Sento arrived. Misora explained that Soichi came earlier. Later, they were attacked by guardian minions and Gentoku came. He then revealed his true identity to the minions and transformed into Night Rogue. He started fighting them. He used Devil Steam and transformed the two minions beside him to Smash. Ryuuga dealt with the Smash, as RabbitTank Sparkling fights the flying Night Rogue.

After they defeated him, Jusaburo Nanba came and talked to Gentoku. Ryuuga just had to listen, as Gentoku left the scene.

In The Weaponry Hero, Sento is depressed and Ryuuga challenges Sento to a fight, knowing that he killed his girlfriend. Later, he was fought by RabbitTank and RabbitTank Sparkling. After he failed, Sento went far away. Later, during a fight by Hokuto minions and Sento fought them but failed. Ryuuga appeared and transformed into Cross Z and helped Sento to defeat him, complaining why did he fought alone.

During the fight, the Hokuto Three Crows were watching them over before the fight was over. Ryuuga reminds Sento that he still does not forgive him for killing his girlfriend and many other people, but they still had to work together.

In Rider War Starts, Ryuuga and Sento was with Gentoku, who told them to fight with Touto because they need to protect the Pandora's Box. They refused, but before they knew it, Touto government minions went to them and hoisted guns at their face. Gentoku put bracelets on them, to monitor them, which makes him able to communicate them. Sento later took it off, but Ryuuga still had his. Ryuuga and Sento were attacked by Akaba, Aoba and Kiba who was sent by Grease. They call themselves the "Hokuto Three Crows". They started fighting. Ryuuga fights as Cross Z and Sento transforms into RabbitTank. They get ultimately defeated. After they left, Ryuuga and Sento returned to the Nascita Caffe. Ryuuga went to a chest and opened it, revealing the Sclash Driver. After spotting the Dragon Sclashjelly, he asked Sento is the driver for him, and Sento tells him not to get the wrong idea. It was the only bottle compatible with it.

Ryuuga later went out and sees a Smash. Kazumi Sawatari was watching over, until a Smash came. He jumped the ditch and fell next to Ryuuga, saying he didn't like this to happen in a festival. He shook his Fullbottle and punched the monster, before collapsing onto the ground and weeping over the pain of his hand. Ryuuga looked at his driver.

He was disturbed by the sound of ringing, and he pulled up sleeve. He took the call and answered, it was Gentoku. Gentoku told him to use the Sclash Driver, but Ryuuga didn't care. He hit the bracelet shut and took off. While Build as RabbitTank Sparkling was fighting against the Hokuto Three Crows, Ryuuga arrived. He took out the Sclash Driver, which Build constantly warns him not too, but he does anyways. He took the Dragon Sclashjelly, turns it, and inserts it—as it gets crushed. He gets shocked for a while and enters a tube- shaped Snap Ride Builder. After transforming, RabbitTank Sparkling and Cross Z Charge fights him. They keep bumping through each other during the process, but still worked. Build then kicks the behind of Cross Z Charge, and tells him to finish them off. They both do an amazing rider kick and defeats the three.

Both of them, happy of the scene, suddenly sees Kazumi walked by and Akaba calling him a captain. He told them that they made him miss out the fun, as he takes out his Sclash Driver...

In The Golden Soldier, Cross Z Charge watches as Kazumi transforms into Kamen Rider Grease. He compared their belts and in his surprise, it was the same! He challenged Kazumi to a battle and fell later on and lost. Later, he went back to the Nascita Caffe and listened to the call of Sento.

After that, he and Sento went to Gentoku's headquarters and watched as Kazumi transformed on his live show.

He later fights against him, and nearly gets himself killed before Sento saves him. After Sento transformed into RocketPanda, they took their chance and flew away.

Personality

Ryuuga can get very arrogant sometimes, such as if he discovered a Best Match, as saying "How do you like my sixth sense?" He also has a lot of anger issues, and at the start he didn't care about other people, and only himself as he used Tatsuya to lead them to the Faust Base. But after Sento told him about he doesn't care about himself, but about helping people and crumpling to a smile, Ryuuga never felt such jealousy before. Ryuuga also can act very rude and unpleasant at times and sometimes very naive.

Transformations

Ryuuga uses the Build Driver to transform into Kamen Rider Cross Z. First, he will take the Cross Z Dragon and turn the mode. Then, he will stick his Dragon Fullbottle into it and stuff it into the socket of the Build Driver. After that, he will turn the crank until the Snap Rider Builder forms around him. He says "Transform" and the two suits crush on him. After that, he is ready to fight.

To transform into Cross Z Charge, he will first wear the Sclash Driver. He will hold up his Dragon Sclashjelly and turn the top of it. Then, he will put it into the slot of the Sclash Driver. After flushing down the lever, a tubercle version of the Snap Ride Builder will spin around him. Smoke later will fill up the space and the Rider without the jelly on it will appear. A moment later, the jelly will splash on his face and his transformation is finished.
